ARTICLE: Cultivating Connectedness for a Purposeful Life

Connectedness is the tethering of our human self to a sacred, higher power.

Without connectedness our life can feel like it’s without purpose. If you are currently in a life position that doesn’t have something “wrong” with it, but still you lack of zest for living, I invite you to look at how often you feel connected to source energy.

Once you start to unravel the existence of magic in your life day-to-day life, you can invite more of that energy in just by having awareness of your lack of a divine bond. Having a willingness to see where you have lack instantly allows more of a bond to develop naturally. The amazing thing is the more connected you get the more you begin to manifest what you truly desire. So many times we think we are intending for good things to flow into our life but they remain stagnant because we aren’t truly connected to source. Once we can build a more solid bond, we can allow our natural gifts to emerge from deep within us to reveal what our true purpose is and how to share that with the world.

Everything begins and ends with awareness but, to be a bit more proactive in cultivating a bond, I have a few tips for you to start with. In my work, I like to keep things easy and practical. I use collage art to fall into the flow in an exploratory, fun way. I suggest staying as light-hearted and inquisitive as possible. Everything works better with a childlike wonderment and excitement. In fact, I think having excitement is highly underrated.

1. Try using art yourself.

To do this be open to the process and let your higher power guide you. Set aside time each week to create. Simply sit with some magazines that have imagery you’re attracted to, ask to have source work through you and start to create. Sometimes the meaning of the art will reveal it’s self after you take time to reflect on it in the days to come. This is different than a vision board because instead of you dictating what you want you are inviting a higher energy to speak directly to you and providing it a voice through art.

2. Start to relate and speak to source energy as if it is a close friend.

This instantly gives your relationship a more honest and real interaction. You must be authentic in any relationship in your life so, why would this one be different? Get real with where you’re at, what you love about your life and what makes it challenging. To take this tip one step further, put pen to paper and write to your divine in a daily journal. This adds a tangible element that emulates how we how we hope to start manifesting energy in our life into physical reality.

3. Consider your childhood upbringing.

One of my mentors Margaret Nichols, taught me that we need to take a look at what our upbringing and beliefs are around any kind of higher power that you many be carrying now. I’m not religious I’m spiritual but, organized religion may be playing a role on how you see a higher power. Maybe you were in organized religion as a child and that felt safe, happy and gave you good memories. If that’s the case for you, great we don’t need to adjust that. If you had an experience where it cause you to be in fear or judged by and ominous power in the sky, you may be causing that fear to perpetuate your relationship now without even knowing it. Start to design a divine that is so powerful, loving and understanding. You can choose. You can pick the form your divine comes in and how it relates to you. The divine doesn’t care how you’d like to see it because it is essentially formless.

4. Magic in everyday life.

If you start here you will begin to have more connectedness in your life and magic will flow in. Any time you see a coincidence or have a prayer answered you need to praise the divine in a big way. This let’s your higher power know that you see and appreciate the things flowing to you. The more you do that, the more you will see evidence of magic in your everyday life. Miracles are often mistaken for huge events that come to fruition. In reality, something simple is just as big a deal as loftier goal becoming realized. Celebrate them all!

5. Give it time.

Remember to allow time for a bond to develop. Relationships don’t deepen overnight. You must be willing to have faith and show up. You will start to hear the whisper magic flow in until it turns into a roar with gratitude and faith.

If you follow these tips I know you will being to live a life that is on purpose and full of joy. Wake up the parts of you that are your gifts to share. As you do this process you will have a knowingness of how and what to share. Opportunities will flow in, in the form of signs, in people and abrupt redirection by a divine hand. This is how you will live on purpose and in divine flow.
